Effects on the organism:

Coltsfoot is used for cough for over 2 centuries. It is an effective plant and very popular remedy for respiratory problems.

Coltsfoot contains flavonoids which are anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic. In syrup form, it relieves asthma and spasmodic coughs. However, it gives better results when associated with other plants.

Caution: the flower must not be used. Not recommended during pregnancy and breast feeding. Not suitable for children younger than 6 years and not recommended if liver problems are present. The leaves must not be used for more than 3 to 4 consecutive weeks.
