Properties and usage:

It is a light sedative which relaxes the muscles of the bronchi and intestins.

Effects on the organism:

Traditional medicine considered celandine as a universal remedy. Since several millenia, this plant es also used to improve eyesight, specifically in the presence of cataracts.

Many peoples around the world use celandine to treat bronchitis, whooping cough and asthma. Its antispasmodic effects due to celindonin go as far as helping the gall bladder as it stimulates bilious secretion. Several alcaloids of the celandine also hide analgesic properties.

In treating jaundice, gall stones and bladder pains, the celandine has a depurative action.

When applied on the skin, this plant appeases skin ailments such as eczema. The latex of celandine, which contains very powerful enzymes contributes to the cure of warts,ringworm and certain malign skin tumors.

Caution: not to be used during pregnancy. Not to be administered to children.
