Properties and usage:
The leaves are astringent and diuretic, used for dysentry, diarrhea, tuberculosis, arthritis, gout and rheumatism.
Effects on the organism:
The strawberry plant was known as having medicinal value since the Middle Ages. Its roots are perennials, ligneous, astringent. The leaf refreshes and, dried, is a diuretic.
It is far less used nowadays, but it has the medicinal properties described just above. Those who use it are very satisfied with the results.
The roots and the leaves are used for gargling, to relieve sore throats, and, as a lotion, it treats light burns and scrapes.
The fruit is prescribed within a special diet for tuberculosis, arthritis, gout and rheumatism.
As a diuretic, it is effective in the treatment of icterus and dysentery and it stimulates blood flow.
Principal constituents: flavonoids, tanins and essential oil.
