Properties and usage:

The root of yellow dock has depurative and mildly laxative properties. It also treats cutaneous afflictions.

Effects on the organism:

Very appreciated for mild constipation. Even more effective if taken with a high fibre meal.

The Amerindians used it often to stimulate bilious secretions.

Yellow dock is very sought after for acne, eczema and psoriasis.

It is also used for arthritis.

It tastes slightly bitter.

Caution: not recommended during pregnancy or breast feeding.

Principal constituents: anthraquinones, tanins, essential oil.
