Properties and usage:

Lungwort is a plant rich in mucilage, mineral salts and vitamin C. Excellent for the treatment of respiratory problems

Effects on the organism:

Lungwort is recommended for the healing of lung ulcers, to stop bloody sputum and to treat wounds.

It has expectorant and tonic properties. It decongestions and is also a purgative and an aperitive.

It continues to treat asthma. Due to its high mucilage, lungwort treat respiratory problems, particularly chronic bronchitis and whooping cough. It can also be used for sore throats and coughs heavy in mucous.

The Amerindians used it to treat tuberculosis.

Principal constituents: allantoin, flavonoids, tanins, mucilage.
